Portraits

Here are some portraits I did during the week. It was a little difficult because the people I was sketching weren't really posing for me. I love how they turned out though. I think I achieved good likeness.

I Return!

I have returned from my long two week trip! Here is some sketches and junk that I collected from my sketchbook. I am very tired from my trip. I will start updating the arsenal cards daily again starting tomorrow.
Thank you for your patience!

Arsenal cards: Thomas Vermaelen and Laurent Koscielny

Continuing on with my challenge to colour each Arsenal sketch. Here's players #5 and #6. Still having a difficult time. I'm not happy with Vermaelen's card at all. I had to do some major doctoring to fix my heavy handedness. It ended up getting really messy. I'm happy with Koscielny's though.

P.S. I will be gone for the next 2 weeks. I will be drawing but I won't have any internet connection. I will update as soon as I get back. See ya then!

Arsenal cards: Bacary Sagna and Cesc Fabregas

Continuing on with my challenge to colour each Arsenal sketch. Here's players #3 and #4. This is proving to be very difficult but I can feel myself learning. I rarely take anything from start to finish like this. I'm still experimenting with different systems for skin coloring and shading. It'll take me awhile before I finally get a handle on it.

Arsenal cards: Manuel Almunia and Abou Diaby

Here's the start of my project to finish and color all of the sketches of all of the Arsenal players in order of their number. Here's players #1 and #2. I'm decently happy with how the coloring and inking went. I messed up on a couple things in each picture. I am really, really unhappy with how my scanner scanned the pictures. The scanner made it look a lot grimier. I decided to call the series "Arsenal cards" because they're done in the size of those nifty illustration cards you can get at the store. I honestly couldn't think of anything else.

Arsenal sketches: Wojciech Szczesny

Finally reached the last player. I decided not to do the reserve players just yet, but I will definitely be doing them later on. Here's player #53. I am so happy with how this sketch project went. I have learned how to set goals, draw different face types and meet deadlines.
Starting tomorrow I will be coloring and inking each and every sketch and submitting them daily same as the sketches. Stay tuned!

Some Sketches

I figured I should post some stuff that wasn't Arsenal related since, well, I don't just draw Arsenal players. The first sketch is a rough concept for a character that is a modern punk-Roman soldier. I like the idea and am going to continue to run with it. The second is just a small sketch that I did. I like how the features came out.

Arsenal sketches: Henri Lansbury and Nicklas Bendtner

Continuing on with my challenge to draw all of the Arsenal players in order of their player number. Here's players #46 and #52. I finally got to draw my favourite footballer, Lansbury! I'm pretty happy with both of these. Bendtner's sketch could have been a little more accurate but I don't want to fix what isn't broken. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Arsenal sketches: Craig Eastmond and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas

Continuing on with my challenge to draw all of the Arsenal players in order of their player number. Here's players #40 and #41. This was kind of a mixed bag. I am happy with Eastmond's and think I achieved good likeness. Not so happy with Emmanuel-Thomas's. I might redo it later. Have a great weekend!

Arsenal sketches: Armand Traore and Emmanuel Frimpong

Continuing on with my challenge to draw all of the Arsenal players in order of their player number. Here's players #30 and #35. Once again, I seem to be getting better as the week goes on. I am extremely happy with these two, especially with Frimpong's. I'm almost reaching the end! It's exciting. After I finish I can start coloring everything.

Arsenal sketches: Kieran Gibbs and Marouane Chamakh

Continuing on with my challenge to draw all of the Arsenal players in order of their player number. Here's players #28 and #29. I'm actually pretty happy with these. The likeness still isn't there but I had a really fun time drawing Chamakh.

Arsenal sketches: Vito Mannone and Emmanuel Eboue

Continuing on with my challenge to draw all of the Arsenal players in order of their player number. Here's players #24 and #27. I am not very happy with these. I got almost no likeness on Eboue's. It looks extremely generic and just... wrong. I will definitely be redoing it when I run through and color everything. I figured posting something was better than nothing, haha. The long weekend has not been kind on my wrist.

Arsenal sketches: Gael Clichy and Andrey Arshavin

Continuing on with my challenge to draw all of the Arsenal players in order of their player number. Here's players #22 and #23. I'm decently happy with these. The likeness could be better but the faces are pretty well constructed so I'm happy about that bit. I'm updating today because I won't be able to update until Tuesday. See you Tuesday!

Arsenal sketches: Johan Djourou and Lukasz Fabianski

Continuing on with my challenge to draw all of the Arsenal players in order of their player number. Here's players #20 and #21. I'm actually super happy with these. I didn't get the likeness quite right but I think they're a lot closer than the last batch. Sorry for posting so much!
