Arsenal Sketches: GIF

I decided as a fun little project to compile all of the sketches I did last summer into a quick gif. I am still learning how to use photoshop. I'll probably make the coloured cards into a gif as well.

The Arsenal

I have to say, this is one of my favourite pieces that I have ever drawn. The composition is a lot different than what I usually do. It feels good to branch out. Some of the likeness is a little bit off on some of the players (mainly Walcott I think) and some other small details. I tried to colour it digitally but my computer crashed. I hope to finish it soon.

Obviously I've been having too much fun drawing these. I really enjoy the sketching style even though my markers are on average too small to get any face detail in so likeness is difficult. You gotta love Rambo!

Arsenal Cards

Once again, finally got around to compiling my hard summer work into one single image. I have learned a lot about skin tone through this project. I lost a lot of likeness in most of the cards and a lot of players from the sketches didn't end up to be cards because I was working on the project during the transfer season. My goal is to redo all of these eventually.

Finally got around to compiling all of these into one file. Obviously this is the old first team since Na$ri and Cesc are still in there along with a couple others that have left the team since. I have to say, I feel pretty accomplished seeing it all put together. It was a lot of hard work, but it was one of the best projects I have put myself to work on. Gooner till I die.

Victory!

Words cannot describe how psyched I am that Arsenal won against Chelsea in the match today! It inspired me to draw more Arsenal again. Fantastic match. Anyway, it was a good practice to do more than one figure in a piece. I'm pretty happy with this aside from the way Van Persie looks. I haven't been liking a lot of the things I've been working on lately so I haven't been updating as often. I promise to update more in the future.

I'm decently happy with how this came out. There could have been more likeness in the face but the movement an proportions are good. Feels good to draw Arsenal players again.

Aaron Ramsey NT sketch

I realize this is my third post today. Oh well, I'm in the mood to draw. This is a sketch of Aaron Ramsey in his Whales NT kit. I'm pretty happy with how this came out. The face is pretty accurate. The only place that really feel short is the hands. I'll get the hang of them eventually. The clothing looks a bit flat as well. This was a good practice though!

I can't say I'm super happy with how this turned out. I really liked the sketch and I just don't think it translated as well as it could have. It's been a looong time since I've done grayscale in markers. Oh well.

Continuing on with my challenge to colour each Arsenal sketch. Here's players #16 and #17. I am still exhausted. Not terribly happy with these, but not unhappy with them enough to redo them. I might redo Ramsey later. This is still proving harder than I though.

Still continuing on with my challenge to draw all of the Arsenal players in order of player number. Here is players #16 and #17. I'm pretty happy with how these two came out. I had some trouble with Ramsey's eyes but I will get more likeness when I run through all the sketches with color.

Aaron Ramsey marker sketch

After a very disappointing couple of days it's nice to get back to marker sketches. I half forgot how much I love to use them. Here's Azza being a badass. I'm not that happy with a few things but it's decently solid. More Arsenal sketches tomorrow.
