Sleeping Bag

Every time I look at a sleeping bag I imagine it has some sort of personality. It's like a ski coat mixed with a large blanket. Anyway, I am just avoiding my homework and doodling random things.

Sketch Dump

I finally got around to scanning all of my class doodles from this semester. Most of them are odd stuff or just faces since it tends to distract me from my horrific teacher's ramblings. Most of these are done with ballpoint pen, a couple are done with pencil. They are the good little snippets from my sketchbook pages.

Power Suit

Just messing around with some digital stuff. Haven't been feeling great about my work lately. Hopefully I can do something decent soon.

Daredevil

Because of my working on BUST so furiously I haven't really had the proper time to test out using inks with a brush and nib all that much. Anyway, it was difficult to do all of the crosshatching and I sort of gave up toward the end. I wanted to give a sort of blind-like feel to the pose and the piece. Not sure if I succeeded.

Left Handed

My old art teacher used to say that when I sketched with my left hand (I am right handed) it looked much looser. I think he was right. Whenever I use my left hand the drawings tend to have more personality despite them being less accurate. Anyway, this is completely done with my left hand. I promise to update with some real art once I get the time.

Scan 33

This is something I did last month and never go around to scanning. It's been hard lately. I feel that I have put too much on my plate. It's hard to juggle getting perfect grades and keeping up on my art at the same time. I am just hoping that in the fall I can attend a proper art school so that those two things are one in the same. Right now I have too much strain.

BUST

I apologize for my absence on this blog. I have been working on my first real comic called BUST. It is being posted on romehancomics.blogspot.com. Check it out! Updates should be daily. I am mainly doing this project to practice. I desperately need to learn how to better my backgrounds and figures. Come watch me learn and grow!

Chains

My scanner gave my sketchbook paper a lovely warm colour that I think really compliments the ballpoint pen. Anyway, the idea was some sort of abstract wing made of chains and I got sort of sidetracked in art history class with the draping of robes so I had to try that too.

Safety

Been trying to branch out and do more background recently. Something about this ended up really funky. I am getting the feeling that I need to take a break from markers for a bit and come back to it. I would like to work on more digital art but my computer keeps shutting down at random moments.

Rusty

Just a practice. I'm getting rusty with my technical drawing skills. This was mainly a focus on the feet and hands.

Power Down

Lately I've been spending more time on my pieces, and I think it's starting to pay off. Although there are a lot of things wrong with this, I am glad I did it. It reminded me how much more I need to be doing with my work. In the future I will use references for the buildings. It came out pretty well considering no references were involved and all of it is done with ink pen.

Justice United

This is what happens when I draw something for fun. I had a lot of fun doing this, but I know that the inking is pretty bad as well as the colouring. I really liked the sketch. Oh well!
